A quick hi to everyone on this list from a newbie.

I contacted Genuis about a Linux driver for their
scanner and they pointed me in your direction.

I am more than willing to help out on any driver
development. I have been using Unix for over 10 years
and Linux for about 5. I normally have a reasonably
recent development kernel running with all the USB
support.

Time to really get the USB ball rolling.

Steve

Hallo Steve,

the only USB Model we got is the 19200 USB from Primax. And we don't know if your Vivid Pro is
compatible in any way with the Primax scanners... We only know the Genius Vivid+ runs
with our current driver. (tested with the versio 0.2 of the driver...)

You should check the ASIC and the ADC built into your scanner, if they match the models used by Primax
you could try to adapt the parallel port version to the USB stuff...

We don't have any experiences with USB programming...

Thank you.

According to Genius support the Vivid Pro USB is the
same as the 19200 USB from Primax. I'll need to get
down your current drivers etc and see what they make
of my hardware.

I have already contact the gut working on the HP USB
scanner support. With information from him and
yourselves we might be able to work something out.
