Driver for the Primax Colorado Direct 9600 Scanner
From: Gustaf Kroling ####@####.#### Date: 24 Mar 2000 09:20:42 -0000 Message-Id: <38DB30E8.E53F454D@swipnet.se> Hello all, Finally there is a Linux driver for the Direct 9600 scanner. Take a look at http://home2.swipnet.se/~w-25069/pxscan-0.1.html This driver is more like a workbench than a tidy program for the moment but I don't have the time needed to finish it in the near future so better publish it now and see what happens. Please note that this is my messy version. Don't blame the people that made the original version. Good luck Gustaf Kröling ####@####.####

If the last, it'd be quite interesting to hear about the changes you had to apply to our code. I'll go and get it... testing may happen this weekend, but my time is really limited, so nothing is promised. cu. --- Christian Ordig | The Primax Scanner Driver Project for Linux/UN*X | Germany | http://thor.prohosting.com/~chrordig/Primax/ | __ _ | | / / (_)__ __ ____ __ | Why Linux? It turned out that the scanner has 32 registers among other things. So after some time I had made a mess of the old code and replaced much of it. When I type -lon, the driver thinks the scanner light got on, but I didnt. So, when I try to scan something the "light" move about 1cm.. When I run ./pxscan -d1x1 -r300 -v2 I get parse_options: dimension: 1.0x1.0 inch resolution: 300 dpi pxscan version 0.1 Probing port 0378 SPP port present PS/2 bidirectional port present EPP 1.7 Read: 196 194 190 Offsetregs set to: 80 80 80 Read: 155 153 149 Offsetregs set to: c0 c0 c0 Read: 135 133 129 Offsetregs set to: e0 e0 e0 Read: 38 1 0 Offsetregs set to: f0 e0 d0 Read: 0 1 13 Offsetregs set to: e8 e0 d8 Read: 0 1 0 Offsetregs set to: e4 e0 d4 Read: 7 0 0 Offsetregs set to: e4 de d2 Read: 3 13 1 Offsetregs set to: e4 df d2 Could some one run with -v2 and send me the output?? Btw, with some adjusts in the driver primax_scan-0.2 I can get the scanner thinks he is scanning (in the primax_scan-0.2 driver) and I also get the light on and off with pxscan. I have two computers and a medium knowledge about C (I never programed through the paralel port). If some one explain me how to trace the paralel port, maybe I could get some adjusts for my scanner.. Is there someone more in this list that can't get the pxscan work with a Direct 9600??? []'s
