Hello,

I finally got my scanner working (the OEM model: FCC_ID: EMJFB308B).
After I have upgraded my Mainboard with the latest bios (I've a ABIT BX6
rev1.2), the output of the scanner are normal images, not just white or just
black. The scanner works with a adjustment of the tables (as with the D600) new
lines added in primax.c where the scanner models are detect. I added these
lines:

case 0x04:
	printf("\nLooks like a Primax Colorado OEM model\n");
	break;

(or just change the case 0x02: printf("\n................................. to
case 0x04)

It worked with driver 0.93-Beta2, and no printer connected to the
parallel port.

Joshua

interesting! May you tell us the mainboard (name and revision) and the OLD BIOS
revision?

OK. What OEM is it?

not the right solution.

Hello Christian,

I have an ABIT BX6, rev 1.2. The old (AWARD) Bios code was:
i440bx-W83977-2A69KA1AC-DL, the new one: i440bx-W83977-2A69KA1AC-MX.
Maybe it has something to do with the EPP?! Forgot to mention I use EPP 1.7
and not EPP 1.9 neither EPP/ECP (I've tried all settings, but only EPP 1.7
works, and it did not work before I flashed the Bios

I guess it is the OEM model of the 600p (it looks the same, only my one is
black), but it is working with the Colorado Direct/D600 drivers in Win98
(never got the answers from Primax).

Can you tell me why case 0x04: ...etc. ...is not the right solution? It
does work fine! (but again I'm not a programmer)
But if you can tell me how I should solve the problem the right way, please
tell me.

If I can be of any help for you for more information, I here.

Joshua

Well... have I understood right: with EPP 1.9 it still don't work?

This is the RIGHT solution. The other way you mentioned (simply replacing
the case 0x02 by 0x04) isn't the way it should be done...

see above...

I'm trying yet use my OEM Scanner (FCC: EMJFB308) on Linux...
I got the program (bzw.exe) to get information of my BIOS on Awards site,
and after upgrade this, cause I set my port to work with EPP and the
pxscan detect SPP!! I think that it can be a "bug" of my BIOS.
My problem... I don't have DOS instaled... to run bzw.exe, where can I
look for upgrade BIOS?
  Ricardo.

I don not use pxscan (I did not work with my either), try driver version
0.93 in stead.
