As other 1200p - owners have already reported, pxscan-0.2. _seems_ to
work withthe Primax Colorado 1200p (with the E3 Asic);
[System is: AMD K6-2/450, SuSE 6.4 with KernelVer 2.2.14, private built]
Like someone (sorry, forgot who)
did before, I've added some lines to pxscan.c, line 1748ff:
   ...
   case

0x06:
   printf("\nLooks like a Primax Colorado 1200p\n");
   break;
   ...
this works, but, of course, is only 'cosmetics' ;-)

I'm used to prog in java, not in C, so I dont fully understand
where is the reason for those always-white-at-all scans.
Can anyone give me a hint (e.g. is there a chance to find out
wether the raw data from the device is invalid/doesn't contain
colorinfo or its a libtiff problem - should be possible to
work w/o libtiff)?

Te 1200p uses another CCD and perhaps another ADC than the 9600, since it has
an higher resolution. So it partly works but is not fully compatible.
Maybe you should open you scanner's case and look up the ICs to find out
what's the difference (and if there're the same as we mentioned on our
internet site.)

ATTENTION: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE ON YOUR SCANNER RESULTING
           FROM OPENING THE CASE!

Thank you for supporting us.
