Subject:
Primax ColorMobile Direct (Parallel Port)?
From: nlin ####@####.#### Date: 17 Jan 2001 21:31:35 -0000 Message-Id: <200101172135.WAA17010@www.zum-thema.com> Hello folks, I have an old, but rather nifty, Primax color hand scanner which attaches to the parallel port - the Primax ColorMobile Direct (http://www.primax.nl/sup_colormobiledirect.htm). It works fine under Windows. I'd love to get this thing working under Linux for my laptop computer, where I have no Windows installed. I tried using primax_scan-0.93beta3, which is apparently designed for Primax flatbed parallel scanners, with no luck. Is there any chance of getting this scanner to work under Linux? Is there any way I can help development of a Linux driver? Is it likely that I can get the scanner to work under WINE if I install WINE, the Primax Windows driver, and a Windows scanning program, or would this just be a waste of time? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks in advance, -Norman ####@####.#### | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
