Does that mean that there is no solution or is the traffic so low that it may take so long? Thanks a lot for any hint how I may get the scanne up and scanning Michael ####@####.#### Original Message: I have a problem with my jewel 4800 scsi scanner. It was sold by Primax and produced from TECO as far as I know. The scanner is recognized but not detected .. I hope that some one has a hint for me how I get this scanner to work.. That is what find-scanner says: find-scanner: found scanner "Primax Jewel 1.01" at device /dev/sg1 I have set the softlink and the rights That is from /proc: # cat /proc/scsi/scsi Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: IBM Model: DCAS-34330 Rev: S65A Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00 Vendor: Primax Model: Jewel Rev: 1.01 Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: LG Model: CD-ROM CRD-8320B Rev: 1.28 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00 Vendor: HP Model: CD-Writer+ 8200 Rev: 1.0f Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 That is from scanimage -L: No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages). -> Done, but no luck. It seems that it scanner is not supported.... Bad luck? But maybe there is a work-a-round? Are there simmilare products which drivers I may can try? Thanks a lot Michael :-) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
