(Running on RedHat 7.2)

I have downloaded, configured, compiled and installed the sane 1.0.7 backends
and frontends, but I am unable to access my scanner from The Gimp. I get an
'xsane: no devices available' error message when trying to access the xsane
device dialog.

One potential problem that I've noticed is that my scanner Product Id number
is different from either number listed at
http://www.gjaeger.de/scanner/plustek.html. 'usbview' records the following
information about my 'USB Scanner' (below). Note that the Product Id is
0x0001, not 0x0013 or 0x0017. You can also see that the Revision Number is
0.00, not 1.01 or something else. Is this a problem, and if so any ideas
about how I might be able to fix it?
