I'm more concerned about going from CVS to the new SCCS.  it would be
nice to retain the ability to merge from some point in the past.  here
at Frye we are still running a fork of 0.89, and I'd desparately like to
get as much as I can back into the tree, but it doesn't make a lot of
sense until I'm merged with a more recent version of HEAD.

I'm not too worried about going forward, as I assume whatever is chosen
will continue to have source code for unix (Linux and NetBSD) clients
available.
