GrNewPixmap() is confirmed as working, but I can't see a way of determining
the screen depth in order to work out how much memory to malloc (I assume
you would want to malloc as little as possible).

On a side note: I noticed the GrAreaCopy does perform well with the
framebuffer driver on top of the VGA (i.e. 16 colours) kernel framebuffer.
It copies from slightly the wrong position - my work machine has a SVGA card
that is not capable of running the VESA Framebuffer.
