First off, thanks for all the response! I was overwhelmed by the amount
of help I received. I first built under X and ran some of the binaries
and then I added fb support to my kernel and ran a couple of demos.
Just as a note in passing, having nothing to do with uwindows. Like I
mentioned before, I've been using FreeBSD for about 5 years now and I
recently made the switch to Linux. The main reason was the availability
of applications but I noticed something else. The file system is
dramatically faster for things like tar xzvf and /bin/rm -fr than that
of FreeBSD. The network code is close to FreeBSD but still noticably
slower for things like FTP downloads. Whats up with the file system
code?
