As far as microwindows+linux on the helio.

Is it more stable than W on the helio? I keep getting socket connection
lost errors with W. Also, has anyone done more than 1bpp color depth? The
display is supposed to do at least 4 bpp.

Thanks.

Ok, this isn't easy, but it's very rewarding.... :-)

Here are the steps you would need to go through to put mMcrowindows on
your helio.

1. Get a battery charger and 4 or 6 rechargable AA batteries - This
isn't absolutely required, but
when the serial UART is going on the helio, it eats up power like
non other.

2. Go to http://vhl-tools.sourceforge.net . They will explain how to
put the Linux kernel on your helio.

3. Goto http://www.microwindows.org . Grab the latest version of
Microwindows, copy the config.helio file to the config file, and
make the system.

4. That should be all. I have had it running with surprisingly few
problems (except for the power thing). If you run into problems,
we have a number of people on this list that have built Microwindows
for the Helio, I know that at least one of us will be able to help you.

Happy hacking!
Jordan
