I don't think that there's any point carrying this kind of backwards
compatibility baggage around. Once we reach a stable 1.0 release okay, but
until then the Nano-X API and protocol are still under development and
subject to non backwards compatible changes from time to time (when
there's a good reason for it, as in this case).
