I fixed the previously mentioned "streaking" problem. I used a 
magnifying glass and saw that EVERY two pixel columns swapped, not every 
other pair. I then remebered the FBREVERSE in config which was set to N, 
and set it to Y and the problem went away. All looks good now.

But the display was also perfect with FBREVERSE = N when building the 
0.90 tarball!

So, why did the 0.90 tarball work with it N, and the 0.90 cvs have to 
have it Y?
