Hello,
I also have a HP 2100C scanner, and am having the same problem.
Preview in xscanimage works fine every time but scanning works only
sometimes. I've got Mandrake 8.2 with SANE version 1.0.7
Over the next couple of days I will be experimenting with different
settings to see if I can make any progress.
