Hi!
I've got exactly the same problem,
but with Linux Suse 8.0 .

So, how did you solve it?
I didn't find the answer to this previous link
I've installed my scanner on Linux Suse 7.3; this was working,
but now, it doesn't work anymore!
(I removed all the old version of sane and xsane,
but when I try to reinstall it, I've this problem too.)
