I am running xane-.88 with plustek module .42 using SuSE 7.3
Sometimes the Plustek 9636T works fine and then with the next image I try to scan it
makes a rapping or knocking sound as if the drive motor is trying to turn the wrong
way. Sometimes I have had luck deleteing the old driver and re-installing it from tar
but that doesn't work consistently either. Is there any explanation for why this is
happening and what I can do about it? I also wonder about these lines* in
/etc/modules.conf I have edited modules.conf with the prescribed lines as the how-to
says. SuSE has the following note in the modules.conf file. Thanks for reading and any
help!

the protocol type you use
# post-install paride insmod frpw
# pre-remove paride rmmod frpw
