Hi,
I've just been playing with the plustek driver (sane 1.0.9) on a hp
2200c and I've noticed a few bugs.

The scanner will not scan higher than 16bits, even if 42bit mode is
selected. Using Kooka, it will only work in normal color mode. When
42bit mode is selected, the lamp comes on and nothing happens.

The motor is noticeably noisier under linux than windows. I'm guessing
this might be the plustek driver telling it to take larger steps than
normal.

I get faint verticle lines in a couple of spots on the scans, which are
not present under windows.

Binary scans are granier under linux than windows.

Faint lines and details on white backgrounds are either discolored or
lost altogether.

Any ideas/fixes/experiments would be appreciated. I can also send an
image scanned under windows and linux if that will be any help.

Regards,
Francis
