This email is just FYI to let you know the status of
the Canon N1220U scanner. It is still not functional
using the 0.45-TEST5 release. The following error
occurs in xsane during preview and/or acquire:

Error during read: Error during device I/O

The following occurs in scanimage:

  /usr/local/bin/scanimage -d plustek:/dev/usbscanner
scanimage: sane_start: Error during device I/O

Here is the output from check Merlin:

  ./checkm
  Checking /dev/usbscanner for MERLIN chipset...
  DetectLM983x: found LM9832/3

You probably already have this but here is the lsusb
output:

Bus 001 Device 024: ID 04a9:2207 Canon Inc. CanoScan
1220U

The backend used was the stable Sane 1.0.9 release
with a 2.4.20 kernel. I'll keep an eye out for new
releases and keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Marc
