Had some time to debug the Canon N1220U a little, here
are some additional details:
The high-level failure occurs in backend/plustek.c in
the sane_start routine and reports an errno of 110.
I dug a little and the problem is bubbles up from
backend/plustek-usb.c in the usbDev_open routine.
However, it appears to orignate from the
usbio_DetectLM983x routine in backend/plustek-usbio.c.
Here's a trace:
[plustek] usbDev_open(/dev/usbscanner,)
[plustek] Vendor ID=0x04A9, Product ID=0x2207
[plustek] usbio_DetectLM983x
[plustek] UIO error
[plustek] This is not a LM9831 or LM9832 chip based
scanner.
[plustek] sane_start: open failed: 110
I'll post back later after I add some additional debug
hooks.
