Hello,

I've been reading, and have tried following what I've read, but am not
getting it to work.

I have a Canoscan LiDE 20, a Thinkpad T21 with Redhat 8.0, upgraded with
latest patches. I am using the Redhat provided 2.4.18-19.8.0 kernel,
although I do have the source installed as well.

I've made the module and installed it from
plustek-module-0_42_9.tar.gz. There were no errors reported and the
build completed as did "make install".

However:
[root@ganesha temp]# modprobe pt_drv
/lib/modules/2.4.18-19.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: init_module: Success
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
      You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.18-19.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.18-19.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-19.8.0/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod pt_drv failed

Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Thanks in advance,
Bret

Here are some things I think would be relevant from what I've read:
[root@ganesha temp]# cat /etc/modules.conf
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 eepro100
alias sound-slot-0 cs46xx
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L
>/dev/null 2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S
>/dev/null 2>&1 || :
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
