I'm having the same problem on an SA1100 board.
doing a 'cat /dev/ttyS0' and moving the mouse does NOT generate anything on the SA1100 or on my x86 Host machine. The only way I could get the mouse to generate garbage was by running minicom (with 1200bps Yes SW and HW flowcontrol) on my host... So I think there is something that needs setting in the linux target kernel to set the flowcontrols and baudrate similar to minicom....is this it? if so... how do we set this?!
