Did you do a "make install" followed by an "ldconfig"?
It just looks like libsane-canon.so isn't in your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH. If it doesn't work after an ldconfig,
try this in your bash shell before running scanimage:
export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib/sane:/usr/local/sane
As for the N1220U, I still haven't gotten it to work.
I'm getting some low-level IO errors in the sanei
layer. I found that the 45-TEST5 series really
*should* only be used with sane 1.0.8, since the
device handles are different in 1.0.9. However, it's
still not working beyond that.
