Hi Gerhard,

thanks for analysing the problem. I tried out your suggestions (SPP mode and 
correct settings for parport_pc), but that didn't help.

Then I installed Win98 und the original plustek driver. And it still didn't 
work. So I assume the paralell port built in the mainboard is corrupted.

So I connected the scanner to a PCI parallel port (EX-41011) and now the 
scanner is recognised. But, when I scan, the result does not even resemble 
the original, so the scan seems corrupted. This is the same in Win98 and in 
linux. I attach one of these scans (It is a small part of the scan since this 
mailing list doesn't except large files, but that shouldn't matter since the 
whole picture looks very similar).

Any Idea?
